About Me

I am a young adult who has spent a lot of time in self-analysis, self-improvement and trying new things. Throughout my journey I have discovered a lot of great practices and methods to find out ones passions, purpose and then how to incorporate them into the different aspects of life. This blog is mainly a compilation of things I have learned, tried and completed, which have had a large impact in shaping my current life for the better. Each entry consists of some piece of advice that I have experienced in my life, but should be easily applicable to all sorts of uses. I will try to keep the posts chronological, but since I started this blog after about a year into my journey (I have kept a journal during this past year, so I will also be including the applicable information as well), some things may be posted out of order.

It has not been any easy journey to discover my passions, narrow them down, and turn them into opportunities. I hope this resource can help others who might be struggling, searching or expanding their direction in life. I also hope that you find this blog as an inspiration and an awakening to some of the unrecognized and unexamined assumptions that are in each of our lives.

Even though I have made it far enough in my journey to start sharing the knowledge, I am still learning and developing. I believe that life-time learning is a goal that should drive each of us. We should want to be better people, whether as wives, fathers, and/or workers. To me, there is nothing interesting about remaining stagnant. I am certainly not perfect, and I may never be, but I always can be a better man than I was yesterday.

Just a warning: I do not know all the answers. There may also be better ways of approaching these issues. If you have come across any, I would love to hear your feedback. I have learned from many intelligent people in order to write these thoughts out. You could be another one.

I am also presenting an image of my inner-self here that not many people are aware of. These are my inner feelings and beliefs about my journey of self discovery and my personal development. Granted, at first I thought that once I defined these aspects, I would not have to be done again. Through my experience, however, I learned they are not immutable. My purpose and the qualities that I attribute to myself have been refined since I wrote these entries. I can see clear differences only a year later. So luckily for you, you get new blog entries as I continue on this journey.

History of pursuingthedream

While I was in college, I started writing a book. I called it Life Lessons from a 21 year old and I wanted to share the hard lessons I had learned through life, so others could learn from my mistakes. I was eager to start writing but after a few pages, I lost interest. Something wasn’t there. There I was, someone who has learned so much from the freely available information at universities, internet presentations, and web pages, and I couldn’t get the ambition to continue working on it. This didn’t seem right and was very atypical for me. I am a very dedicated man; especially when I decide to do something major. After some thought, I realized it was the long wait (to write and then publish the book, if it would have been published) without feedback that I was missing. I also wasn’t driven to write the book to make money, but to be of some value to others. So I thought about ways to make the information available. That’s when I decided to start an online blog instead. So here it is. Free to all who care to read and comment. Enjoy!
